Native plant, 1-3 feet tall.

Flower: Densely packed spike. 2 lobed hooded upper lip, 3 lobbed lower lip. Usually creamy, sometimes pink.

Flowers bloom from bottom of spike upward. Leaves with  small to no petiole. Long and thin. Toothed, opposite and at right angles to leaves below or above.

Partly shady wet environment.
