Also called Spiny Plumeless Thistle. Non native. Considered invasive. Biennial.

Up to 6 feet tall. Strongly spiny. Deeply lobed leaves. 

Flowers: Several floer heads on end of stems. 1/2 to 1 inch.

Resembles Bull Thistle whose flowers are larger and leaves harrier.
